The Transformation Team at PACTO recently presented in Exeter at the GM Coachwork and London Hire Limited Transport Talks Roadshow.

The funding we have received from the Motability Foundation has made our learning journey possible in the complex field of purchasing accessible vehicles. 

Wyndham Williams, Transformation Project Manager, and Damian Golden, Accessible Vehicle Coordinator, have gained valuable knowledge and a deeper understanding of successful accessible vehicle procurement through this partnership. They can now offer informed, practical guidance and advice to assist new and existing Community Transport operators across Pembrokeshire in securing the right accessible vehicles for their passengers’ needs.

Our work to improve access to wheelchair-accessible vehicles for Community Transport Operators in Pembrokeshire has already delivered a tangible impact, and has been recognised nationally for its strategic, collaborative, and innovative approach.

From tackling complex procurement challenges to providing appropriate accessible vehicle solutions, this project has truly broken new ground.

To help inform our work, we visited GM Coachwork back in February 2024 to gain insight into vehicle design, manufacturing, and conversion. The knowledge and connections formed during that visit were invaluable, and we are proud to now be invited by GM Coachwork to speak at their national industry event.

We will be sharing key lessons and insights alongside other leading experts in the sector.
