Calling All Volunteers!
Are you a car owner with a few hours to spare? Cars4Carers needs you.
Volunteering Matters' Cars4Carers scheme always welcomes new volunteer drivers to provide transport for the many unpaid carers in Pembrokeshire looking after poorly or elderly family members or friends.
Cars4Carers helps our scheme members to go shopping, attend GP and allied health appointments, meet up with friends and relations and attend vital support or interest groups.
Using your own vehicle, your mileage will be paid; there is also great flexibility in this role, enabling you to give the amount of time you want to give.
Requirements:
- You will be asked to undergo a Disclosure & Barring Check for this role, but this, along with the rest of the recruitment process, is all taken care of by Volunteering Matters to make it as easy as possible for you;
- You must have your own car insurance. Volunteer driving should not bring about any increase in your premium, and we have practical guidance to help allay any concerns;
- Your car must have a valid MOT.
As a member of Volunteering Matters Retired & Senior Volunteer Programme, you will benefit from our membership insurance which covers you personally, and we also provide extra No Claims Bonus & Excess Cover for volunteer Drivers. You will receive a full, local induction to your volunteer role and Pembrokeshire staff members or volunteers are only at the end of the phone for advice and support once your volunteering has begun.
